Who is Sarah Short and why should you listen to me?
I’m Sarah, founder and mentor with The Coaching Revolution. I am a 2x best-selling author as both the first and second editions of my book A Coaching Business In A Book made number one best-seller in multiple categories.
The Coaching Revolution specialises in teaching qualified coaches how to market comfortably and effectively. We’ve been doing it for almost 7 years, and we’re very good at it. That’s not just me saying so, the coaches we work with do, too.
The Problem Coaches Face:
The biggest challenges coaches face when it comes to marketing their coaching business is this: no one knows what we do, but they think they do and they’re wrong.
Think about that for a moment.
No other provider of professional services has this problem. For example, architects, dentists, therapists - everyone knows what they do. More importantly, they know when they need the services of those professionals. With coaching, that doesn't happen.
Add in the myths that exist around coaches and marketing and it’s a real problem.
(What are those myths? Well, how about if your coaching is good enough, your clients will find you, or you just need the first one or two clients and the rest will come by referral. I could go on!)
A big part of my job is helping coaches understand what good, effective marketing looks like. This is because in the same way that no one knows what coaching is, but they think they do and they’re wrong, coaches don’t know what marketing is, but they think they do and they’re wrong.
My work will not be complete until coaches understand that good marketing is comfortable to do and never involves boasting!
